Joe Hammond writes:

The 2017  Old Paulite Association Europe Annual General Meeting and Reunion Lunch was held on the 22nd July at the Bombay Brasserie restaurant in London. At the AGM which preceded the lunch the Committee members were joined by Paulites from over the years, and also guests Surajit Kar from the Old Paulite Association North America (OPANA), and Vik Patel, Trustee of the Darjeeling Childrens Trust.

Over seventy people then attended the Reunion Lunch which started with welcome drinks followed by a range of delicious dishes. Old Paulites from the 1940’s onwards joined friends to share happy reminiscences and camaraderie that is a mark of these joyous occasions. OPA(E) Hon Secretary David Medland presided over the event. Hon President Joe Hammond and Surajit Kar gave short summaries of the progress with the initiative Vision 2023 for St Paul’s School, and Vik Patel updated us on developments and plans for the Darjeeling Childrens Trust. The OPA(E) are fully committed to actively supporting both.

The event lasted well into the evening and was unanimously judged to have been a great success, indeed the best yet!

Dear Old Paulites and friends,

I attach the annual Hon Secretary's Report for the OPA (E) in advance of the AGM on Sunday 17th July 2016 (venue, 189 Piccadilly, London, W1). For those who have not as yet signed up for the Reunion Lunch following the AGM and are hoping to attend, please do so very soon.

We have our celebrated chef, Asma Khan, again preparing the lunch for us this year. Her cooking at last year’s dinner was a culinary delight and I am sure this year’s lunch will be equally tasty and enjoyable. The menu will be displayed on our website.

We also have again as our guest speaker, Hugh Heron, from the charity, The Darjeeling Children's Trust ( www.darjeelingchildrenstrust.org.uk ) with whom we have formed an association, updating us on the work that they do with disadvantaged children in Darjeeling.

With best wishes,

David Medland – Hon. Secy.
